Real really dominating the possession now. They had 54% in the first half.

Mario Mandzukic scores for Juventus with as good a goal as has ever been scored in a Champions League final. Higuain controlled the ball on his chest touched it to the Croatian who with an overhead kick finds the top corner. Absolutely incredible!!! Worthy of three exclamation marks.

Navas makes a mess of Varane's back pass putting it out for a throw in. Make the lingering smoke in the stadium with the roof closed got in his eyes.

Real Madrid finally finding their feet and looking to make the most of the possession they've managed to get.

We are just a few minutes away from the opening ceremony. I can feel your excitement!

will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas said: “We’re planning on harnessing the excitement of the fans in the stadium, and all those tuning in to the UEFA Champions League final. As football fans ourselves, we know how much this game means to those watching from the stands, their homes and with friends. This performance means just as much to us. We’re planning an unforgettable show.”

It's like the bloody League of Ireland. 45 minutes to kick off and I still haven't got a teamsheet! Don't worry I've got the starting XI's in there for you on either side of update.

0'

Real players are the first out onto the pitch with their goalkeeping team.

0'

Juve have morphed from three at the back to flat back four during games so we will wait and see how they start.

0'

4-2-3-1 for Juve as Allegri goes with what worked against Monaco with a flat back four. Alex Sandro starts and it is a front three of Dybala, Higuain and Mandzukic.

0'

One of the most pleasing additions to what I packed for the match was to bring my continental plug adaptor. We may be in Britain but the press box is kitted out with two twin plug sockets. #takethatbrexiters

Both teams are down on the pitch. Small bit of mingling and man hugging going on. Of course, plenty of players who have been team matest before. Zidane, Higuain, Morata and Khedira have played for both clubs. Lots of international teammates too like the Germans Kroos and Khedira; Brazilian boys Marcelo, Danilo, Casemiro and Alves, Sandro; James and Cuadrado plus the Croatian boys Kovacic, Modric and Manzukic, Pjaca.

0'

The Football Association of Wales confirmed in a statement on Friday that the decision to close the roof on the 75,000-seater venue for both the two official training sessions on Friday June 2nd as well as the final was made “following discussions between all stakeholders . . . and taking into consideration the recommendations made by the authorities over the last few weeks”.

The FAW added that “delivering a safe, secure and memorable event for all stakeholders, in particular the teams and the spectators, has always been the primary objective for both the Cardiff 2017 Local Organising Committee and Uefa.”

The stadium PA bloke is the fella who covers cycling for Eurosport. Sorry can't remember his name. The Juventus bus has arrived and the Juve fans are in fine voice off to my right. Scarfs being whipped around their heads...

0'

Not the first time I've been here. A decade ago I was here to watch an Ireland side managed by caretaker boss Don Givens draw 2-2 with Wales at the end of that awful Staunton era qualification period. #shudder

0'

The Real Madrid team bus has arrived. They gave it the whole 'OJ in a bronco' helicopter coveraage for the last 15 minutes. They are coming into dressingroom now. Sergio Ramos looking sharp all suited and booted wearing brilliantly bright white trainers.

0'

The trophy presentation will be on the pitch after the game. UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin  had this to say about the decision to do that. "The pitch is the player’s stage and it is only fitting that their achievements are celebrated there. It also makes sense that the officials should come down from the stands to the players – to their arena – and pay tribute to them in presenting the trophy and medals on the playing surface."

0'

47 cameras covering the action tonight bringing the game to 200 countries and the expected 'global reach' is 360m with the live audience 160m.

0'

The extratime seat in the press box is to the right of the half way line towards the end of the stadium that is holding the many body of Juventus fans. The clubs got 18,000 tickets each and the capacity today is 65,576 below the 75,000 capacity. They loose seats due to the larger advertising hoardings. The first four rows at either end are not in use. They also put in a larger press box so they can accomodate the fourth estate.

0'

The referee Felix Brych is down on the pitch testing the goalline technology. You might remember him from such fog affeted games as Bosnia v Ireland playoff! He also reffed the playoff between Ireland and France - no not "that" game - the first leg in Croke Park.

We've had Manic Street Preachers on the PA. UEFA bound to play a bit of David Guetta I'm sure.

0'

We have an opening ceremony ahead of kick off. No Alicia Keys this year :( but we do have the Black Eyed Peas. I've a feeling my ears will be assualted by 'I gotta feeling'. Actually I know it will but more of that later...

Evening folks. Macdara Ferris back here again in the press box in Wales' National Stadium to take you through the build up and the action from the Champions League Final. I will give you a flavour - literally - for the event. I've just finishe my pre-match meal down in the press area. It was mousaka with potato and veg plus a very tasty chocolate brownie for dessert!
