Watch: Derry stun Dundalk under the lights in Buncrana
Published: March 16, 2017

Derry City inflicted the first league defeat of 2017 on champions Dundalk on Monday night under the (working) lights at Maginn Park.

The Candystripes kept up their unbeaten start to the season, making it three wins from three despite falling behind early doors to a headed goal from Dane Massey.

Massey headed home John Mountney's cross after just 16 minutes to set the Lilywhites on what looked like the familiar path to victory, having been unbeaten away to Derry since October 2012.

That was as good as it got for Stephen Kenny against his former side, however, as Nathan Boyle slalomed his way through three challenges before equalising on the stroke of half time.

Barry McNamee put the home side in front with 20 minutes remaining after Gabriele Sava spilled Aaron McEneff's long-range drive.

And captain Ryan McBride scored his second key goal in four days as he beat Sava to Nicky Low's cross to earn the Candystripes their first win at their temporary home.
