Cork City's Europa League conquerors have finally been eliminated at the quarter-final stage following a 4-3 aggregate defeat to Spanish side Celta Vigo.
The Belgian cup holders drew 1-1 at the Luminus Arena in Genk but it wasn't enough to overhaul a 3-2 first leg deficit.
Leandro Trossard equalised in the 67th minute after Celta's Piona Cisto had opened the scoring four minutes earlier, and the side placed tenth in La Liga held out for a quarter final berth.
Genk beat City home and away by narrow margins (1-0 in Genk, 1-2 at Turner's Cross) in the third qualifying round to advance to the play-off round, where they beat Croatian club Lokomotiva Zagreb.
The Belgians topped a group containing another Spanish side, Athletic Bilbao, Austrian side Rapid Wien and Sassuolo of Italy to set up a round of 32 tie with Romania's Astra Giurgiu.
They beat fellow Belgian side Gent 6-3 on aggregate in the round of 16 to set up their date with Celta in the quarter-finals.
