Sean Maguire celebrates one of his two goals against Limerick on Friday evening.

Watch: Maguire strikes another double as Cork steamroll Limerick
Published: June 18, 2017

Sean Maguire scored twice as Cork City overcame Limerick comfortably in the Munster Derby at Turner's Cross on Friday night, live on Eir Sport.

The Preston-bound striker opened the scoring midway through the first half as he glanced home a header from Karl Sheppard's right-wing cross.

The lead lasted barely a minute, however, as from the kick-off former City winger Chiedozie Ogbene was fouled by Mark McNulty and Rodrigo Tosi converted the resulting spot-kick.

Limerick thought they'd made it to the break on equal terms only to see Stephen Dooley produce a moment of magic, controlling on the edge of the box before amashing his shot in off the post.

And disaster struck straight from Limerick's kick-off for the second half as Robbie Williams left a pass short to Brendan Clarke and Maguire nipped in to round the keeper and make it 3-1.

And there was still time for the goal of the night as Jimmy Keohane wrapped things up six minutes from the end with a spectacular curling shot that left Clarke helpless between the sticks.
