McCourt returned to Ireland last year with Glenavon before signing for Finn Harps in the off-season.

Watch: This day in 2011, Paddy McCourt scored this wondergoal
Published: August 10, 2017

It's six years to the day since Paddy McCourt pulled out one of his all-time best goals on the international stage against Estonia at Windsor Park.

The then-27-year-old had yet to register an international goal, despite making his debut nine years earlier, when the Faroe Islands visited Belfast.

Northern Ireland were still in with a shout of qualification, having only lost once in five games with a draw against Italy and a win over Slovenia to their credit.

An away draw with the Faroese meant any sort of slip-up would end their hopes of making Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

And they got the job done, Aaron Hughes and Steven Davis netting before McCourt stole the headlines with an expertly-taken brace.

It was his second that truly captured the imagination, however, as the Derry Pele went on one of his trademark Best-like dribbles, leaving two men for dead before chipping the keeper from close in.

With Finn Harps in FAI Cup action against Bohemians on Friday night, what wouldn't any Harps fan give for a repeat showing at Finn Park?
