About Kurtis Byrne
Kurtis is a forward who started his career in the Norwich City youth set-up in 2006. He then spent a hugely successful two years with Hibernian's youth side, earning a professional contract with the Edinburgh club in 2009. He made his senior debut for Hibs in a League Cup tie against Brechin City on 26 August '09. Kurtis made just 7 league appearances for Hibernian in his two years with the first team. He also had loan spells at Stirling Albion, East Fife and Alloa Athletic. In the summer of 2011 Kurtis signed for Ross County where he made 13 league appearances before going out on loan to Brechin City in September 2012.
In December 2012 Kurtis was released by Ross County and in January 2013 he returned home and signed for Stephen Kenny at Dundalk. He scored on his senior debut against Sheriff YC in the Leinster Senior Cup on 20 February 2013 and netted seven times in 30 league appearances as the Lilywhites finished second to St Pats in the Premier Division title race.
Kurtis re-signed with Dundalk for the 2014 season and went on to make 31 league appearances for the club, scoring seven goals, as Dundalk won the Premier Division title. He also scored the winning goal away to Hajduk Split in the Europa League. In 2015 Kurtis made another 14 league appearances for the club as Dundalk won their second consecutive league title. He also came off the bench in both Champions League ties, as the Lilywhites went out to BATE Borisov.
In November 2015, Kurtis moved to Bohemians under Keith Long and made his league bow for the Gypsies away to Cork City on the opening night of the 2016 season. He had a productive year at Dalymount Park, scoring ten times in 32 league appearances, but that would be Kurtis's only season at the Phibsborough club and in January 2017 he signed for Liam Buckley at St Patrick's Athletic.
